Open Door Community Centre, Keevil Drive, Beaumont Road, SW19 6TF
Kicking of on Sunday 2nd February 2025
Welcome to 'She Speaks Power Sundays', a special church service designed exclusively for women and led by women.
Our aim is to create a safe and inclusive space for women who may not feel comfortable in traditional church settings, and who are seeking fellowship with other like-minded women or simply a place of solace during challenging times.
At Life Essence, we recognize that there are various obstacles that can prevent women from attending regular church services. Whether it's due to past or present church-related pain, abuse, trauma, the need to conceal one's faith, or being a part of the local community,
we understand and empathize with these challenges.
Come and join us on the first Sunday of every month 3pm to 4:30pm.
This service includes uplifting worship, inspiring messages, and the opportunity for prayer and
to participate in holy communion for those who wish to do so.
Worship
Why do we worship ?
Worshiping God is crucial because it helps us cultivate humility and gratitude. When we acknowledge the greatness of a higher power, we are reminded of our own weaknesses and limitations. This sense of humility prompts us to be thankful for the blessings we've been given and to recognize the divine guidance in our lives. Engaging in worship practices like prayer, meditation, and rituals allows us to express our gratitude for the beauty and blessings around us.
The Word of God
Why is the word important?
The significance of the word of God lies in its ability to serve as a moral compass, guiding us through life's intricate challenges. The Holy Bible, a divine scripture written by men under the influence of God, offers invaluable insights on treating others with kindness and respect, leading a righteous existence, and nurturing virtues like compassion, forgiveness, and humility. By adhering to the teachings of the word of God, we not only deepen our understanding of Jesus and God's perspective but also uphold these values and principles that ultimately enhance society as a whole.
Holy Communion
Where does it come from?
The roots of Holy Communion can be traced back to the Last Supper, a significant meal where Jesus gathered with his disciples the night before his crucifixion. As they sat together, Jesus took a piece of bread, blessed it, broke it, and handed it to his disciples, saying, "This represents my body, given for you. Remember me through this act." He then took a cup filled with wine, expressed gratitude, and proclaimed, "This cup symbolizes the new covenant in my blood, poured out for you."
Prayer & Prophecy
What is prayer ministry ?
Prayer ministry holds immense significance in our spiritual journey as it encompasses the profound act of interceding for others, offering heartfelt prayers, and seeking divine intervention and guidance on their behalf. This sacred ministry is deeply rooted in the belief that prayer serves as a direct channel of communication with the Almighty, enabling us to invoke positive transformations and shower blessings upon the lives of those in need.
Believers are blessed with the spiritual gift of prophecy, which is the ability to prophesy through the Holy Spirit.
"For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit." (2 Peter 1:21)
"...the one who prophesies speaks to people for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation." (1 Corinthians 14:3)
